Not all catalytic convertors are the same. Our US built catalytic convertors are a 625 cell with extra loaded precious metals. Our cats have rhodium, which is an expensive platinum based alloy. It is a required in reducing harmful NOx (nitrogen oxides) levels in your exhaust gases. Overseas catalytic convertors do not have rhodium in them which is why they are inexpensive and do not pass emission requirements.
